Directions to the House: Directions to the house: If you are coming form Heraklion airport, you will need to ask or follow the signs to the main islands' freeway heading towards Chania (westbound). From Heraklion airport you should ask someone for directions to the main islands freeway called "Ethniki Odos". Your destination will be the town of Georgioupolis. You will have some drive ahead of you so please be cautious and drive safe. Once you pass the City of Rethimno you will be in apporaching Georgioupolis in 15-20 min. If you are coming from the airport of Chankia Make a left of the airport parking, about a mile down the road at the main intersection turn right towards Chania. An eight mile drive will bring you to down town Chania. There ask for the main freeway and follow the signs towards the main islands freeway (when available). Take the main freeway or "Ethniki Odos" towards Heraklion. As you approach the freeway entrance make sure you go under the bridge and turn left into the eastbound entrance. Your destination is the City of Georgioupolis. Georgioupolis is a 30-35 minute drive from Chania and 2 hours from Heraklion. Either way coming from Heraklion or Chania you need to exit at the town of Georgioupolis. Once you turn into Georgioupolis you will you need to drive around and back towards the hillside towards the lake for about 3 km. |
